Set on a cliff overlooking the Gulf of La Spezia, Tellaro is a great base from which to explore both the hinterland and the villages of the Cinque Terre. From here it is possible to easily reach all the countries that give the Gulf as well as the city of La Spezia, which is only 15 km from Tellaro. The same applies to the Cinque Terre, reachable in about an hour by car with the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful view. The area is rich in places of interest and cultural importance: in La Spezia in fact there are several museums including the Museum Lia, the CAMEC and the Museum of the Seal, while the Gulf of Poets and the Cinque Terre are famous places in the world for both the beauty of the villages and landscapes (which was appointed to the UNESCO heritage), both have been throughout history the place of inspiration for artists like Byron and Shelley. Finally, especially in summer, there are many festivals where you can taste wines and typical products: certainly worthy of note is the Octopus Festival which is held during the second Sunday in August just in Tellaro, where you can delight in the tasty octopus of Tellaro.
